For this month’s Instructor Feature, we chatted with Taylor Hasselhoff, one of our go-to Lagree instructors. Taylor’s classes are not only fun (her playlists are top-notch), but they’re also challenging, which is why we love ‘em!

Tell us a little bit about where you grew up and how it inspired your love of fitness.

Growing up, I was always super-active. I played everything from volleyball, basketball, soccer, and tennis, while also playing around with Irish Dancing and hip hop. My high school offered all types of activities and I pretty much participated in them all.

As a young girl, what did you want your career to be?

I always wanted to be a singer! But in all honesty, I wanted to do something that inspired others to follow their dreams. I felt like my calling was to make people happy.

 

What prompted you to get certified as a Lagree instructor?

I started taking Lagree classes at Pilates Plus when Kristie first opened her studio in Encino. I instantly fell in love with the way it made me feel. It not only changed my body, but it also made me stronger. I had hurt my knee running, and once I started Lagree, my knee was stronger than ever before. I was instantly hooked and couldn’t wait to help others like Kristie helped me.

 

You also work in Real Estate. Can you tell us a little about what you do and where?

I am blessed to be on the #1 luxury Real Estate team in LA, where I work with the team of Aaron Kirman Partners as part of The John Aaroe Group. My team there has taught me so much about being the best at what I do. It’s awesome being able to find my clients the homes of their dreams. What do you love about Lagree Fitness?

The low impact it has on the body while also toning it from head to toe.

 

Go-to move when you really want your clients to feel the burn?

Bungee and Spider Kick.

 

Favorite stretch?

Pigeon! It feels so good to open up those hip flexors. Women can seriously benefit from this move!

 

Most challenging part of being an instructor?

Being on my feet for three hours straight! While I am teaching, I forget about it, but when I’m done, all I want is a foot massage – ha!

 

Favorite part about being an instructor?

Motivating people and pushing their limits so they can see how strong they really are. Clients don’t give themselves enough credit. I love seeing them progress and feel more accomplished and confident after every class.

 

What do you love to do in your free time?

I love taking my pups to the beach, recording and writing music, riding my bike, and going to music festivals and concerts.

 

Do you feel like you’re constantly changing and evolving as a trainer?

Absolutely! I learn new things during every class I teach by watching my clients’ reactions to certain moves. Each week, I tailor and design my classes based on what my clients liked the week before.

 

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

I have been dying to go on a safari. One day!

Favorite LA restaurant?

I love Le Pain Quotidien.

 

Favorite smoothie?

I’m a sucker for the Slim Down from Earth Bar. It’s jam-packed with pineapples, strawberries, blueberries, and plant-based protein powder.
